Welcome to Every Morning!
There is a snowstorm brewing outside today. It’s the best kind of snow. The snowflakes are thick and bright; they are falling slowly and peacefully to the ground. The snow creates a cold and quiet atmosphere on the hills outside. We have all been warned about the impending inches piling up, so the neighborhood is collectively hunkering down. The forecast predicts the storm will carry on through Sunday night.
The groceries have been stocked, the pot roast is cooking slowly, and there is a hot mug of coffee sitting next to this computer. (A hot mug of coffee! A large win for the mom of a 3 month old.) My winter-loving soul is at peace.
For the longest time, God has been whispering, “It’s time.” But today, while watching the snow fall, I sensed Him boldly nudge, “Start today.” Here we are! Welcome to Every Morning. God has lovingly created a space for me to share the ways I encounter Him in the humble, day to day moments. I am a Jesus follower, a wife, and a new mom. There is nothing more precious to me than the truth of how Jesus saved us by His death and Resurrection.
I know and believe in His great love for us. Jesus personally met me in a difficult, sticky time and allowed my heart to be fully transformed by His power and grace alone. Talk about a new creation! We will get to all of that here. This space is for any woman also on the journey of loving and imperfectly seeking our perfect God.
Today, I am grateful for the first small steps. “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…” Zechariah 4:10 (NLT). So, here we go: first steps, small beginnings, and new mercies every morning.
