Beside the Christmas Tree
Some of my favorite moments of the year take place in my parents’ living room by their colorful, glowing Christmas tree. I am writing this post beside it right now. The collection of familiar ornaments adorning the tree brings a comfort and sense of nostalgia to my heart each year. There is nothing else like it. Each passing year may look different, but this peaceful December tradition remains the same.
The Nativity scene on the counter draws my mind to that night our Messiah was born in the humble town of Bethlehem. The Savior of the world came to us as a baby boy. He was just a small child. My heart holds this truth more tenderly this Christmas, my first as a mother.
“But the angel said to them, ‘Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today in the city of David a Savior was born for you, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be the sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped tightly in cloth and lying in a manger.”
This Christmas season, I am reflecting on how grateful I am for the beginning of Every Morning Ministries and looking forward to what God has in store for all of us here. I am praying blessings and favor over you and your family this year. I am praying for joyful memories to be made in your homes, for peace in your hearts, and for plenty of moments to savor the beauty of the Christmas story. Merry Christmas!
